Dumbest story ever

This has got to be one of the dumbest stories to ever come out of the entertainment industry.

Michael Jackson and Britney Spheres are involved.

Just go read -- and make sure to follow the links in the story.

UPDATE: Sara watched the VMAs and didn't understand, but not in a bad way. Who could expect ANYONE to understand what happened when the presenter and the receiver didn't get what was going on! For more, read this.

Book to recount journalists' roles in 9/11

The Newseum is publishing a book featuring accounts of the journalists who covered the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Should be a good read, no matter how you feel about the media.

As American as baseball, hotdogs and lawyers

Just look what happens when you combine America's favorite pastime with America's...um... not so favorite profession.

Daniel Pearl comes home

No commentary here.

From the Associated Press:

"LOS ANGELES- The body of Daniel Pearl, the Wall Street Journal journalist kidnapped and slain by Islamic militants, was returned Thursday to the United States, a family spokesman said.

The body was flown from Pakistan on a Cathay Pacific flight to Los Angeles International Airport, said James Lee, a spokesman for Pearl's parents, who live in a suburb of the city."

It's not a good thing

Or maybe it is.

Poor Martha Stewart probably has her hand-embroidered panties in a wad again today. The House Energy and Commerce Committee has requested e-mails, business records and additional info on her phone records as it expanded the probe into her sale of ImClone shares the day before they tanked. Stewart has also been asked again to meet with investigators because the doyenne of domesticity has refused investigators' previous invitations for interviews.

The multimedia maven better get cooking: she has until Aug. 20 to supply the requested records before the committee subpoenas them.

It could be a good thing.

Hopefully I will be ready to start posting with MT soon, and can get my name added to the "Resident Blogs" list once I've earned my keep. (There's no hazing to run with this group, right???)
